I had a wonderful week. I really did.
Monday went really well with my father, and things only got better as the week went on.
Ron and Aschley (BIL and Sister) texted and called me daily with updates after he arrived in Florida. Most of them revolved around being blown away by my dad’s involvement in nearly every activity.
When he and I chatted, I could hear the love in his voice. I could feel it.
By Friday, he had multiple offers on his house, with one being over the asking price.
Just fucking fantastic news. He deserves it.
One thing that stuck out to me during this process was how my sister and I performed over our four days together.
We really shined. She really shined. She needed to keep her head down to get shit done, and she really nailed it. Her husband, Ron, also nailed with with setting up his condo in Naples. The place was SUPER dope, and my dad was lit up when he arrived.
One note about my sister. She made a post on Facebook offering a bunch of free stuff and had a few families show up.
A young choir teacher took home my dad’s antique record player. I wish you all could see her face. She was so excited.
My dad could have made some extra money by selling a bunch of his stuff, and instead, he gave most of it away. He did some good for those who otherwise could not afford some of his stuff.
As the week went on, I had some time alone for the first time in a while. It was really nice. I cleaned my house top to bottom and got things the way I wanted them.
My dear friend Matt arrived on Saturday night after some fun delays. Sunday was a rush of errands, smoothies, and some serious furniture assembly, which he was the foreman on.
Installer Stevie was my role, at best.
I’m here another week and then celebrating our 15 year anniversary (Fountain Forward) with the boys in Napa. That’s the beginning of a long travel streak from Napa to Miami, Miami to Naples, San Diego, and then a small gap before going to Colombia.
The focus is on rest while having fun at the same time.
Personally, I’m feeling pretty good. I am enjoying some one-on-one learning with one of our team members, Samuel, who is teaching me AI. I’m really excited about working with him.
One quote to end the week with that I thought was worth sharing.
“Healing happens together and with. We never heal in isolation.”
I believe my sister, father, and I healed together this week.
